Screenprinting Basics

  • Minimum order quantity of 24 identical imprints (see below for MOQ details)
  • Setup fees per color (waived on high-volume jobs)

Minimum Order Quantities (MOQ's)

Minimum order quantities vary according to number of colors, and reflect the number of identical prints and not the total number of garments. We will explain these concepts in greater detail below, but the basic MOQ structure is:

  • 1-color designs have a minimum of 24 identical prints
  • 2-color to 4-color designs have a minimum of 36 identical prints
  • 5-color to 8-color designs have a minimum of 60 identical prints

Identical Prints

Prints are considered "identical" when they meet the following criteria:

  • Same design (i.e., one company logo)
  • Same color (i.e., white)
  • Same imprint location (i.e., front chest)

As mentioned above, minimum order quantities reflect the number of identical prints, and not the total number of garments.

For example, a local restaurant has a single design they would like to screenprint on 12 t-shirts and 12 hooded sweatshirts. The garments are all dark colors (some black, some navy, some brown, etc.) and they would like their design in white on all the pieces. This job meets the minimum order criteria because we are printing the same design, with the same color, in the same location, 24 times.

Now let's say a local band also wants to screenprint 12 t-shirts and 12 hooded sweatshirts, but they want the t-shirts to be design A, and the sweatshirts to be design B. Even though this order consists of 24 garments, it does not meet the minimum order quantities because we are actually printing two different designs twelve times each.

Customer Supplied Garments

When the customer wants to bring their own garments to be printed on, this is called customer supplied garments (CSG) and this situation presents a unique challenge for both the printer and the customer. Please click here to read our full CSG policy.

/// Live Screen Printing

Live screen printing takes the action out of the shop and into the public for parties, product launches, weddings, corporate events, art shows, festivals, non-profit / religious gatherings and more. Patrons will enjoy on-site participation in the screen printing process, executing freedom over details such as design color and placement. Live screen printing events are truly unique and memorable, and Ventura Creative Services has activated successful events for Patagonia, Bell Arts Factory, Ventura Fourth of July Street Fair and Deer Lodge, to name a few. Supply your own artwork, or let our design team invent something from scratch!
